Graduation Processes, Procedures and Requirements
预定在春季学期结束时完成学位要求的学生, Summer semester, or who previously completed their degree requirements in the Fall semester, are invited to participate in the May commencement ceremony.
Students should apply to graduate when they have reached 90 earned credits.

Before attempting to submit your on-line application, please verify that we have made the appropriate updates to your record.

Which Graduation to Apply For
- 如果你预计在春季学期结束时完成所有学位要求, apply for May (Spring) graduation.

- 如果你能在秋季学期结束时完成所有学位要求, apply for January (Fall) graduation.
Please Note: If you are receiving more than one degree (ex. BS, BA, BSW), you must apply for each degree separately.
To apply to graduate, log in to MyRIC and follow these steps:
- select "Student Center," then click "My Academics"
- click on "Apply for Graduation"
- carefully select your Academic Program by clicking on its description
- select "Expected Graduation Term" using the drop down menu
- click "Continue"
- verify the information for correctness and click "Submit Application"

Undergraduate Students Must Complete
- All curriculum requirements, including General Education, requirements in the major(s) or concentration(s), and, if applicable, requirements in the minor(s).
- College Writing Requirement
- College Mathematics Competency

- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale.
Graduate Students Must

RIC holds one commencement ceremony per year, on the second weekend in May, and invites the following students to participate:

Graduation
Graduation 正式完成了所有学位要求，这记录在你的正式成绩单上吗. When a student submits their official graduation application, 他们将通知注册办公室他们打算在哪个学期完成他们的要求. 然后，注册办公室将审查学生的学位审核，并证明所有课程和大学要求都已满足. Upon completion of all degree requirements, the Registrar's Office will confer the degree and order the diploma.
Commencement
Commencement is a ceremony that celebrates the completion of a degree. 它表彰那些已经完成或即将完成学位课程所有要求的学生. Students can learn more about the ceremony by visiting the Commencement Office website.

Students may only submit the graduation application once. 如果你的计划改变了，你不能在毕业申请上最初注明的学期内完成所有学位要求吗, 请联系你的毕业顾问更改预期毕业日期.

Diplomas are mailed at the end of May, 8月和1月，邮寄到学生家庭住址(不是邮寄地址). 如果需要，学生可以在MyRIC或注册办公室更新他们的家庭住址. Please allow 6–8 weeks for the diploma to arrive.
Your name will appear on your diploma as it appears on your transcript. 如果你希望你的名字在你的文凭上显示不同，你必须通知学校 Registrar's Office using this process:
- navigate to MyRIC and select "Student Center"

- click on the "Add a new name" button

- a "success message" will appear
- click "OK" to complete the process
Students may request a replacement or duplicate diploma through Parchment at any time for a small fee of $25. The processing time is approximately two weeks.
